5th March to April 3rd 2026
Presented by Nomadic Arts, this solo exhibition showcases the work of Vera Edwards, a fourth-generation Mallorcan artist whose atmospheric landscapes transcend geographical specificity to capture emotional and psychological states. Her paintings are studies in mood—dreamlike environments where a single dominant color anchors the composition and light becomes an active element, shifting the work's presence as conditions in the room change.
Edwards' practice sits within the Mediterranean contemplative tradition, emphasizing meditation and introspection over narrative. Her landscapes blur the boundary between observed reality and interior reverie, translating personal emotional landscapes onto canvas. The work is inherently temporal, each piece a fleeting moment rendered permanent, yet responsive to its surroundings—alive in the space it inhabits.
What distinguishes Edwards' vision is her restraint and sensitivity to color relationships and luminosity. Rather than depicting specific places, she distills the essence of feeling—the quiet power of solitude, the quality of light at particular moments, the textures of memory. Her paintings invite prolonged looking, rewarding viewers who sit with the work and allow its subtle shifts to unfold.
